Learn With Us at Fall 2024 Arboretum Adult Education Classes!

Our Arboretum Adult Education series returns this fall, with programs at a variety of times and locations.

Join us this fall to learn more about gardening! These programs are presented by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, and the NC State Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Forsyth County.

Please note the time and location of classes, as they vary.

Registration is required due to space limitations. Registration for each program will be available 2 weeks prior to the program date and will close 24 hours prior to the program. September 11 | Fungi Fundamentals: Growing Mushrooms at Home
12-1:30 PM | Walnut Hall at Tanglewood Park
This presentation will discuss various ways to grow your own mushrooms at home, from simple log inoculation to more complex indoor growing.

October 16 | Hummingbird Gardens: Piedmont Plants for Tiny Flyers
7-8 PM | Virtual (registered participants will receive a link)
Attract and support hummingbirds in your Piedmont backyard. Learn about the best native plants, garden design, and maintenance strategies to create a vibrant, hummingbird-friendly oasis in your own backyard.

November 20 | Bulbs in Your Backyard
12-1 PM | The Arboretum at Tanglewood Park office (4200 Manor House Circle, Clemmons, NC 27012)
Dig deep to add dimension to your garden. This class will include tips and tricks for planting bulbs now that will bring color to your garden later.
