Summer Reading Program
June 7-July 26
All Forsyth County Public Library locations
All ages. Starting on Friday, June 7, pick up a Summer Reading log at any of our Forsyth County Public Library locations or print one off from our Summer Reading website. The more you read and/or the more library programs you attend this summer, the more times you will be entered into drawings for prizes. All logs are due back by Wednesday, July 26.

Systemwide Creative Writing Contest
June 7-July 26
Children (12 and younger) and teens (13-17) are invited to submit their best adventurous tale for a chance to win a prize and be featured on forsythlibrary.org! Entries must be fewer than 2,500 words and typed double-spaced (maximum 10 pages). Entries can be dropped off at any Library branch or emailed to Christine by Wednesday, July 26.

Summer is the perfect time to cook on the grill, enjoy some good barbecue, and spend time with family and friends. Make this summer a healthy summer with a recipe from the Library’s very own Chef Floyd Davis. In June, Chef Floyd will turn up the heat on the grill with a sampling of portobello mushroom burgers while supplies last.

Tai Chi at Central
Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Central Library Auditorium or Lawn (depending on the weather)
Ages 12 and up. Tai Chi is a form of gentle exercise, a method of moving meditation and a means of cultivating health and well-being. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and abilities so it's never too late to start. Classes will be held in the Central Library Auditorium or outside on the lawn depending on the weather. Games for Teens: Board, Card, and Video Games
Saturdays from 2-4 p.m.
Ages 12-18. Drop-in to play board, card, and video games together. You may use the games provided or bring your own (rated for teens or younger) to share.

Stop by Teen Central and pick up an arts and crafts kit to make at home. New kits are available every Monday while supplies last.

Ages 12-18. If you can’t stand the heat, get into the Central Library kitchen and learn how to make a cool summer snack with Chef Floyd Davis. No experience in the kitchen required, but you must sign program waivers. If you have any allergies or food restrictions, please let us know when you register and we will try to accommodate them. Gardening Together
Wednesdays at 9 a.m. (June 3-July 24)
Ages 4-17. Bring your children to work with Malloy/Jordan’s own master gardeners to help plant, maintain, and harvest seedlings in a square-foot gardening project.

Juneteenth Celebration
Wednesday, June 19 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Ages 8 and up. Celebrate and learn the history of Juneteenth. The North Carolina Black Repertory Company and Greater Vision Dance Company will perform in the auditorium, followed by games and treats in the garden.

Tie-dye Class
