Chris Parker has been a County Commissioner since August 2026. Prior to this, Chris Parker served as the Chair of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utility Commission, a position that he held since 2024. He served as a County appointee to the CCUC from 2014 to 2024 before becoming Chair.
Professionally, Chris is the President of Vienna Village Assisted Living in Lewisville. As a family business operating for over 60 years, Vienna Village has served generations of older adults. In that capacity he has served as a member of the Rules Review and Readoption Committee for the NC Department of Health Service Regulation for the past 10 years. He is ServSafe certified, certified as a Subsurface Water Pollution Control System Operator and a Stormwater BMP Operator.
Chris received his undergraduate degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of South Alabama majoring in Economics and his MBA from Louisiana State University. He is married to Heather Lowe Parker. They have lived in Winston-Salem since 1995, raising their now grown children, Victoria and Jacob.
As his schedule would allow, Chris has served in many volunteer capacities in the local community. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees of Forsyth Technical Community College (chair of the Student Success Committee), the YMCA of Northwest NC Board of Directors (past Board Chair and CVO), and YMCA Camp Hanes (past Board Chair). Chris previously served as Board Chair for the Centers for Exceptional Children.
In his spare time, Chris likes to read history, attend sporting events, and has led a men’s bible study at his church for the past 20+ years
