Synopsis and Discussion

Overcast skies and a few showers still persist over the region, Thursday, as high pressure, over the NE US, continues to dominate the weather. Particle pollution levels have increased significantly, Thursday, to mid code YELLOW, as Canadian forest fire smoke, trapped circulating around the high, has pushed into the Triad. The steady, NE flow, will continue through the weekend, but begin to decrease each day. The wildfire smoke, entrained in the flow, will lead to a continuation of MODERATE particle pollution readings, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Ozone will remain, low and code GREEN, each day, due to decreased sunshine and cooler temperatures (GENTRY).
