Synopsis and Discussion

Sunny skies, warming temperatures and light winds, Friday, are contributing to higher ozone and particle pollution readings, into the code YELLOW category. A warming trend will ensue through the forecast period as high pressure settles overhead. Mostly sunny skies, warm temperatures, lower humidity, and light winds will all lead to a contiuation of code YELLOW ozone and particle pollution through at least Monday (GENTRY). *** Due to increased wildfire risk and severe drought across most of the state, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a statewide ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. ***
