Forsyth County Public Library’s Makerspaces are places where Library vistors are welcome to work on projects involving crafting, making, and other creative pursuits.

Equipment

The Library’s Makerspaces at Clemmons Branch Library, Forsyth County Central Library, and Paddison Memorial Branch Library have 3D printers, sewing machines, and other equipment as well as space and worktables for a variety of creative projects.

Access

Members of the public can attend Library programs held in Makerspace. Visit the Library’s online calendar and use keyword Makerspace to find upcoming programs.

Library cardholders (18+) can attend scheduled Open Lab hours and request reservations for up to three hours of time and equipment.

Open Lab

During Open Lab, up to 12 Library cardholders can use equipment and/or work on self-directed projects like piecing quilts, making vision boards, and other creative pursuits. Access to Makerspace equipment is first come, first served.

• Central Library: Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
• Clemmons Branch: Second Fridays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Paddison Memorial Branch: last Mondays of the month from 1-4 p.m.

Reservations

Eligible Library cardholders who wish to schedule up to three hours in a Makerspace can request a reservation through the Library’s room reservation system. After requesting a reservation, a Library employee will follow up to confirm the time, equipment, project, and schedule an equipment training session (if necessary).

• Central Library Makerspace reservations are available when room is not otherwise booked and staff is available.
• Clemmons Branch Creative Space reservations can be made on the second Fridays of the month from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Paddison Memorial's Makerspace reservations can be scheduled on the last Mondays of the month from 1-4 p.m.
