Attention Job Seekers! Survive and Thrive @ the Library is back!

Starting August 17th, Survive and Thrive @ the Library will reconvene offering free weekly programs and drop in computer labs focusing on “best job search practices” and tips for surviving unemployment. Each session will be held in the Central Library, located at 660 West Fifth Street, from Noon - 1:30 PM on Mondays.

Speakers from throughout the community will present the following programs:

August 17th – “Match your Job to your Personality”
Speaker: G.H. Vaughn, Reach Regional Manager for EAP and Work Place Solutions
Take a personality inventory to learn what jobs are best suited for your personality type.

August 24th – “The Secret Ingredient: Becoming a Totally Responsible Person”
Speakers: Sanford Danziger, MD and Thomas White, JD, Co-Presidents of TRP Enterprise
Learn how to develop effective habits that move you from the “Why me?” role to positive, productive problem- solving and state of mind.

August 31st – “Walking Grief and Community Mental health Resources“
Speakers: Jay Foster D. Min. Chaplain WFBMC and Andy Hagler, Mental Health Association ED
Reactions to job loss, one of the top 5 stressors in life, can be similar to grieving over the loss of a loved one. Presenters will explore ‘walking grief’ and available resources for help.

September 14th – “Personal Budgeting and Credit”
Speaker: Patsy Dwiggins
Learn creative successful ways to budget while you are unemployed.

September 21st – “Ways to Save”
Speaker Cynthia Jones, MLS, FC Public Library
Live simply and well by taking advantage of free resources and learning how to shop for bargains.

September 28th – “Ways to Network”
Speaker Damian Birkel, Professionals in Transition
Get past your inhibitions about modern day networking! Get motivated to get out there to network your way to your next job!

Weekly Drop in Computer Lab
Central Library: Monday and Wednesday 9 - 11 AM
Clemmons Branch: Thursday August 13th, 20th and 27th from 10 AM - noon.
