Kim Brockington to star in “Zora”

As the final event for the Library’s community read program for 2009 The North Carolina Black Repertory, in partnership with the Forsyth County Public Library, proudly presents the theatrical production of “Zora,” a one woman show starring Kim Brockington.

Zora Neale Hurston was indisputably one of the most important and celebrated figures to emerge from the era of the Harlem Renaissance. Outspoken, spirited and gifted, Ms. Hurston was the most prolific African American woman writers of the 1930’s. The North Carolina Black Repertory Company is proud to present actress Kim Brockington starring in the one-woman show “Zora,” an unforgettable story about the extraordinary life of an extraordinary woman, Zora Neale Hurston. Adapted from the theatrical biography of her life by Laurence Holder, and directed by Wynn Handman, Kim Brockington presents the “Queen of the Harlem Renaissance” as you’ve never seen her before.

Saturday, October 24 @ 7 pm and Sunday, October 25 @ 3 pm. Arts Council Theatre, Winston-Salem. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children age 5 and under.
