"Maturity Connects" Declared a Success!
“I came out to hear one speaker and stayed all day because the presentations were so good,” stated one of the seventy five people attending “Maturity Connects” at Marketplace Mall on November 10th. Adults age 50 and over came with specific concerns, a desire to learn about services and a need for information to improve the quality of their lives.
Representatives from local organizations answered questions, scheduled appointments and directed people to resources throughout the day. One individual can out to voice her concern that Social Security recipients faced late charges from landlords based on when they received their Social Security check each month. Other adults came seeking job leads and services that could lift them out of their financial stress.
FC Aging Services Planning Committee sends out many thanks to the Mayor’s Office for their financial support, all those who volunteered at the event and to the “Maturity Connect” Committee for their great team work.
“All the feedback was positive” stated Diane Wimmer, Chair of the FC aging Services Planning Committee. “We look forward to assisting even more adults next year at “Maturity Conencts”.
