Tanglewood Opens Reconstructed Shelters

Forsyth County is pleased to announce the opening of the second part of a three-part construction plan for Tanglewood Park. On Saturday, April 24th, reconstructed picnic shelters #2 and #3 were once again available for reservations after being closed for construction for the past year.

The $1 million project included the demolition of both of the old shelters and rebuilding of shelters and restrooms. Also included in the project was the extension of the sewer line from Shelter #2 to the campgrounds. Amenities at the new shelters include climate-controlled restrooms, sand volleyball courts and horseshoes. Shelter #3 also includes a fishing deck that overlooks the new fountain in Skilpot Lake. Shelter #2 can accommodate 150 people and Shelter #3 can hold 100 people.

For information on reserving a picnic shelter at Tanglewood Park, please visit the shelter pages of our website or call (336) 778-6310.
