Bike Downtown Without Traffic During Cycling Sunday

Bicyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to bring their bikes downtown for Cycling Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on September 26th. Streets will be closed to motor vehicles so cyclists, walkers, and skaters can enjoy this FREE human-powered event. Helmets are required. Participants can register at the Spring Street entrance to the Forsyth County Public Library. Registered participants will be eligible to win either an adult or a child's bicycle. This year’s event will feature a bicycle rodeo to help teach children bicycling safety skills. Helmet-fitting will also be available.

During Cycling Sunday, downtown streets bounded by Fifth Street, Spruce Street, Holly Avenue and Spring Street, will be closed to motor vehicles.

Cycling Sunday is sponsored by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, Safe Kids of the Northwest Piedmont the City of Winston-Salem Department of Transportation’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Program.
