Pet Food Donations Needed to Support AniMeals Program

Earthbound Arts located at 610 Trade St. Winston Salem is celebrating its 10th year anniversary! As part of it celebration Earthbound Arts has partnered with Forsyth County Animal Control’s AniMeals Program to assist low income households with the cost of maintaining pets and help keep the human and animal members of the families together.

Beginning September 3rd, Earthbound Arts will accept pet food donations on behalf of the AniMeals program and in return participants will receive a valuable coupon to be used within their gallery. AniMeals is a program in Forsyth County inspired by a similar program offered by Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego. This program offers free pet food for the dogs and cats of elderly, disabled or lower income residents of Forsyth County. AniMeals helps keep people and their companion pets together by removing logistical and financial obstacles to ensure that clients will always be able to provide nutritious meals for their beloved pets. For many homebound individuals, a dog or cat is more than a pet; it can provide friendship, joy, and a reason for living. Studies show that animal ownership also lowers illness levels and mortality rates.
