New Dog Park at Tanglewood Coming in 2012

A group of local residents in Forsyth and Davie counties have come together to build a dog park at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC. The Forsyth Board of Commissioners approved the agreement on July 11, 2011 for the 2.3 acre park to be built. After the dog park is built, it will be donated to Forsyth County as a gift and will be maintained by park staff.

The proposed dog park plan has many features for both the dogs and their owners. The amenities include 2.3 acres of fencing, a small dog area (.80 acres), large dog area (1.5 acres), drinking fountains, shade trees, and 90 parking spaces.

Forsyth County has set aside the land on the corner of the Tanglewood Park property, but fundraising for the actual construction is in full swing. So far, $20,000 of the needed $150,000 has been raised. This park will serve the residents of Clemmons, Bermuda Run, Advance, Lewisville, and other parts of Forsyth, Davie, and Davidson counties. The agreement states that the dog park must be built by 2012, so community donations to the fund are encouraged!
