Candidate Filing Period Opens

The filing period for State and County Elections will open at Noon on February 13, 2012 and will close at Noon on February 29, 2012. Filing fees and qualifications for the available candidate offices may be accessed on the 2012 Candidate Filing Information document.

Any voter filing for the following offices must file at the Forsyth County Board of Elections office, Forsyth County Government Center, 201 N. Chestnut Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101:

• County Commissioner – District B – 3 seats
• Register of Deeds
• State Senate – 31st District
• State Senate – 32nd District
• State House – 71st District
• State House – 72nd District
• State House – 74th District
• State House – 75th District
• State House – 79th District

Any voter filing for the following offices must file at the State Board of Elections office, 441 N. Harrington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603:

• U.S. Congress – 5th District
• U.S. Congress – 12th District
• Governor
• Council of State offices
• Superior Court Judges – 21B and 21D
• District Court Judges – 21st District – 7 seats

The filing period for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor will open at Noon on June 11, 2012 and will close at Noon on July 6, 2012. There is one seat for this office. Candidates for this office must file at the Forsyth County Board of Elections office.
