On Tuesday, June 26, 2012, Tanglewood will continue its annual summer series: Tuesdays at Tanglewood. The third program will be Bugs that Sting. Learn about bees, wasps, and hornets in a safe setting, and examine some of the interesting structures they build and get tips for avoiding painful encounters. Children will make a paper mache “hornets’ nest”.
To participate in the Flying Jewels program, meet at Shelter 2 at 10:00 am. All programs last approximately one hour.
The summer programs feature a variety of nature activities and will be free to the public, with the exception of the $2 per car Tanglewood Park entrance fee for all programs at Shelter 2 and Walnut Hall. Registered RV campers and annual pass holders do not pay the entrance fee.
Participants should bring their own sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottle, and wear comfortable hiking clothes and shoes. The programs are designed for all ages, but children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
