In the Talent Showcase, Ben Seats, 13, son of Lisa and Chris Seats of Winston-Salem, performed “The Year of the Cat” on the piano and earned a blue ribbon.
Laura Hutchins received a blue ribbon for her performance of “O Mio Babbino Caro”. Laura is the 17 year old daughter of Brian and Glenda Hutchins of Winston-Salem.
In the Sewing and Fashion Revue competition, Emily Bohanon, the 11 year old daughter of Jennifer and David Bohanon of Kernersville earned a fashion review medal for her layered skirt and top with poncho-style sleeves. Lexi Grimm also received a medal for her 4-H themed top and drawstring skirt. She is the 11 year old daughter of Tony and Jesse Grimm of Winston-Salem. Laura Hutchins earned- 2nd place in the senior competition with her dress and jacket combo. The outfit included a button, zipper, pleats and pockets! Laura earned a scholarship to North Carolina 4-H Congress in June for her efforts.
Youth also had the opportunity to present a 5-12 minute presentation on a topic of their choice.
All of the youth in the 9-10 year old category that earned a Gold medal, the youth in the 11-13 and 14-18 year old categories that earned Gold or Silver will advance to the state competition at North Carolina State University in June.
