Fishing at Kernersville Lake Park

Fish of all types and sizes can be found at Kernersville Lake Park. On Saturday, September 7, 2013 Eric Via caught a 26 pound flathead catfish and released it back into the lake. Eric caught his first catfish ever at Kernersville Lake Park 15 years ago with his dad and today he can say that he has caught his biggest catfish at Kernersville Lake Park. Eric states, “I would like to see more people put fish back after they are caught.”

Matt Lomison, Park Manager, tells us that, “This was the sixth catfish over 10 pounds caught at Kernersville Lake Park this year. Several of these catfish have been released back into the water.”

Kernersville Lake Park is stocked with channel catfish April through September every year. It is a great place to come and enjoy the outdoors; don’t forget your fishing pole!
