Eating Healthy for an Active Lifestyle: TIP for Combining Good Eating Habits and Exercise

For youth and adults engaging in physical activity and sports, healthy eating is essential for optimizing performance. Combining good nutrition with physical activity can lead to a healthier lifestyle. Maximize your nutrient-packed foods by eating whole grains, lean protein, and fruits and vegetables. Be sure to balance your meals and don’t forget to eat your low-fat dairy products like yogurt and cheese. Be sure to stay hydrated by drinking water rather than sugary drinks. It may be helpful to keep a reusable water bottle with you to always have water on hand.
