Forsyth County Employees Honored

Fourteen Forsyth County employees received the Old North State award at the Employee Service Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 14, 2014, sponsored by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners. The award honors outstanding North Carolinians for exemplary service and commitment to the state of North Carolina. The certificates are signed by the Governor and are given to retirees with 25-29 years of service.

The recipients of the Old North State award are Michael G. Barber, Robin E. Carpenter, Patsy (Pattie) R. Davis, Angela G. Holder-Pearman, Dennis W. Huie, Lynne G. Johnson, Carolyn N. Kearns, Glenn A. Peddle, Ronzo L. Reid, Kara K. Staley, Thomas G. Stoltz, Sammy L. Tilley, Robin D. Tuttle and Carole K. Watson.

Seven Forsyth County employees received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award, one of the highest honors the governor can bestow on a North Carolina citizen. Created in the mid 1960's, the award is given to residents in recognition of a proven record of service or some other special achievement. The certificates are signed by the Governor and are given to retirees with 30 plus years of service. Recipients of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine have the privilege of proposing, at any time, the North Carolina toast.

The recipients of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine are Debbie K. Crawley, Kathy D. Franklin, Ottra (Penny) A. Frazier, Arthur (Ed) E. Jones, Mary McAfee, Donald L. Mebane and Stanley E. Peddle.
