2nd Primary to be held for 5th Congressional District.

A Democratic 2nd Primary, for the 5th Congressional District will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The polls will be open from 6:30 AM until 7:30 PM. Early Voting will begin on July 3rd and end July 12th at the Forsyth County Government Center.

Early, no-excuse absentee voting will begin at 8:00 AM on Thursday, July 3rd, and end at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 12th for the 5th Congressional District Democratic 2nd Primary Election. Early voting will be held exclusively at the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 N. Chestnut Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Monday through Friday hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The only weekend day we will be open during this time is Saturday, July 12th, and our hours will be 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please note: We will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

Those eligible to vote in this primary election include: registered voters that reside within the 5th Congressional District who are registered with a party affiliation of Democratic or Unaffiliated.

If Unaffiliated, you are eligible if you are a registered voter in the 5th Congressional District and:

  • You voted Democratic in the May 6th Primary Election.

OR

  • You did not vote at all in the May 6th Primary Election.

Unaffiliated voters who voted Republican or Non-Partisan in the May 6th Primary are not eligible to vote in the July 15th Democratic 2nd Primary.
