Community Partners Help Youth Start the School Year Off Right

The Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP), of the Forsyth County Department of Social Services, partnered with local institutions and individuals to provide back to school supplies for children being raised by grandparents or other relatives.

RAPP’s 9th annual Back to School supply drive surpassed expectations and represents generous support from community groups, faith communities, and individual donors.

Thanks to these generous community sponsors, RAPP provided school supplies like book bags, paper, pencils, hand sanitizer, notebooks, folders etc. to 138 children who are being raised by relatives. Such an outpouring of assistance is a great way to support these children and their academic efforts in this new school year.

RAPP offers sincere appreciation to all who helped coordinate supply drives within organizations, and also thanks those who contributed financial resources. Generous community sponsorship is vital in serving our RAPP families.
