Public Health Celebrates 100 Years of Service

In 2016, The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will celebrate 100 years of service to the Forsyth County community. There are various events and activities planned throughout the year designed to give our community a snapshot of the programs we offer. We will work with all local media outlets to provide information to include newspaper, online advertisements, radio commercials, and social media to provide monthly public health topics.

Marlon Hunter the county Public Health Director said that "with newly emerging and re-emerging diseases and threats that continue to exist, public health is still a significant organization and a vital resource in our community today just as it was 100 years ago".

To kick off the celebration, on Monday, January 4th at 10am in the Public Health Lobby, public health staff will participate in a 10-minute Instant Recess Break led by Marlon Hunter, Health Director. We want to kick off the year-long celebration as role models. This is a great way to live our tagline of promoting health and improving lives. Other departments are welcome to join us!

We are excited about this milestone and invite the entire county to celebrate 100 Years of Public Health with us. For more information, visit Forsyth County Public Health or email Lynne Mitchell.
