FY 2017 Recommended Budget Presented to Board of Commissioners

On May 13, 2016, County Manager, J. Dudley Watts presented the FY 2016-2017 Recommended Budget to the Board of County Commissioners. The recommended budget continues to maintain service levels while maximizing efficiency.

The recommended budget includes a tax rate of 73.10 cents, the same rate as FY 2015-2016. Of the proposed 73.10 cents, 4.51 cents is dedicated to two Education Debt Leveling Plans and 0.6 cents is dedicated to the Library Debt Leveling Plan.

Digital copies of the FY2016 Manager's Proposed Budget can be found at any of the Forsyth County Public Library Branches. A hard copy of the Preliminary Budget document is located in the Clerk to the Board's office on the 5th floor of the Forsyth County Government Center.

The County Manager is scheduled to provide a detailed presentation of the budget on May 19th and the Public Hearing will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 6:00pm during the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
