Plant Trees at Community Roots Day on Saturday, October 21

Keep-Winston Salem Beautiful is planning Community Roots Day on Saturday, October 21. This will be the 25th annual Community Roots Day event. During Community Roots Day, volunteers help to plant over 400 trees.

Community Roots Day is a community-wide event. Cooperative Extension staff and volunteers representing the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Forsyth County will participate in this annual tree planting event. Community members are invited to join and help beautify our city.

Community Roots Day will take place in the Atwood Acres Neighborhood on Saturday, October 21. Volunteers should arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 AM at the Little Creek Recreation Center off south Jonestown Road. Free shirts are provided for the first 250 volunteers, and all volunteers are invited to stay for free lunch after the trees are planted.

Volunteer sign ups are available at this website. For more information call City Link 311 or email georges@cityofws.org.
