Residential Rainwater Harvesting Lunch and Learn, June 21

Rainwater harvesting for the residential landscape can take several forms and serve a variety of functions. Join Extension Agent Phyllis B. Smith for a short primer that will help determine which method is best for you. Email coop-ext-registration@forsyth.cc to register.

What better day than summer solstice to explore ways to store water for later use. Rainwater harvested from rooftops and gutters can potentially decrease municipal water bills, mitigate soil erosion, reduce stormwater runoff that pollutes our streams and rivers, and create a reserve for watering flower beds and gardens when the weather becomes hot and dry.

Bring a bag lunch and relax while we discuss water barrels, cisterns, and other ways to utilize rainwater more efficiently. Drinks will be provided.
