Tanglewood’s Championship Course Grand Reopening

We are excited to announce that the Championship Course’s Grand Reopening will be October 20, 2018! We are thrilled that the next chapter in Tanglewood’s storied golf history has begun.

The historic Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship and the Champions Tour Vantage Championship from 1988-2002, has been closed since May 2018 for a major renovation. The collaborative effort between Robert Trent Jones II and Richard Mandell included completely redesigning, repositioning and restoring all bunkers, converting the greens from bentgrass to Champion Bermudagrass, and creating new play angles and options on many holes.

The changes are outstanding. The updated playability, strategy and picturesque vistas will create a unique and memorable golfing experience. Once the newly grassed areas are fully established, the Championship Course will once again be one of the premiere public courses in the U.S.

Join us for our Grand Reopening celebration! Activities and demonstrations start at 8:30AM and the ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9:50AM.

For reservations, call the Golf Shop at 336.703.6420.
