Stories and Photos of Historic Union Station Sought

The City of Winston Salem is partnering with Winston-Salem State University to create an oral history of Union Station for its grand re-opening in September.

Residents who worked in Union Station or used it, or know people who did, are asked to contribute their stories. People with stories to tell or pictures to share of the old station should contact Tom Flynn, the assistant director of archives and special collections for WSSU, at flynnth@wssu.edu or 336-750-2426.

The City of Winston-Salem has been working to renovate the former historic train station into a transportation center that’ll include a restaurant and other amenities.
