Shoals Dancers: The Passion and Vision of Photographer Christine Rucker

Christine Rucker has created an extraordinary exhibit fusing her passion for our local waterways and her vision of our interaction with nature in a photography series pairing dance with environmental awareness. Her goal was to create a visual journey along the Yadkin River, photographing it through the bodies of UNCSA dancers as they engage with it. The project is intended to make us aware of the beauty of the river, but also the current polluted state of it. By putting a human scale to these issues, we are more aware how we play in that balance.

You are invited to a special reception for Christine and a visit with our Yadkin Riverkeeper, Brian Fannon, at Central Library Makerspace on Friday, July 26 at 3:00 p.m. Her exhibit will be on display through the month of July at Central Library on the 2nd floor in the gallery.
