Forsyth County Land Summit: Education on How You Can Use Your Land to be offered as ZOOM conference

With all of the growth occurring in Forsyth County there are many impacts to landowners. This workshop will serve to educate landowning and farming constituents on important topics which affect how you can use your land. Presenters from Winston-Salem Forsyth County Planning, Forsyth County Tax Office, NC Department of Transportation, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas, and N.C. Cooperative Extension will make presentations that will provide information about plans, guidelines, and choices landowners need to know about. Attend via online ZOOM conference and learn how to be a better steward of your land and your farming concerns. The workshop will be held on online via ZOOM conference Thursday, March 26 at 8:30 a.m. and run until 11:30 p.m. You can join the meeting via computer with internet access, smartphone, or by calling in.

This workshop is the first of a series of three workshops on topics related to land use. The purpose of this workshop series is to provide education to county landowning and farming constituents on matters of land ownership. Topics for discussion in workshop #1 include county management and staff perspective on land issues concerning zoning, land subdivision requirements and bona fide farm zoning exemption; present use value tax program administration and landowner qualification (including change of use and transfer); NC Department of Transportation and Duke Energy plans, easements, and right of way guidelines, eminent domain and landowner rights.
