Humane Society shelters to operate by appointment only starting March 24

In order to practice social distancing, beginning on Tuesday, March 24, the Forsyth Humane Society is requiring appointments for all transactions, and licensing payments to Animal Services should be made by mail.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, call the Country Club location at (336) 721-1303. To arrange a foster pick up, reclaim a pet or surrender an animal, call the University North location at (336) 955-1750.

If you are looking for a lost pet, please check the Forsyth Humane Society’s website and view the stray animals. If you believe you see your lost pet, please call to schedule an appointment to come to the facility.

For licensing payments, you can find those forms here. Please submit the forms with payment by mail or wait until Animal Services is able to resume normal operations to make your payment. During this period, Animal Services will be very lenient on late or unpaid County Pet Licenses.

Animal Services will still be working in the community and its dispatch will be open for calls. You can call with animal concerns seven days a week at 336-703-2480, Option 1. For other questions, you can email animalservices@fcso.us, message the Animal Services Facebook page, or call 336-703-2480, Option 2. Normal office hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6 pm.

Animal Services expects an increase in phone calls, so please be patient. If you reach voicemail, please leave a message and they will get back to you as soon as possible. Please leave only one message so staff can answer calls in a timely manner. Please note that email and Facebook are monitored by staff as they are available to do so, if you have an urgent need, please call.
