4-H Just Grow It Youth Gardening Program
The North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center is offering a nine-lesson, FREE gardening program for youth ages 8-12.
Timeline
- April 2, 5 p.m. Registration closes
- April 12 or 13 Pick-up supplies from the Forsyth County Ag Center at 1450 Fairchild Road Winston-Salem, NC 27105
- April 13ish Take the Pre-Test before you start the program
- April 13-June 12 Participate in the provided gardening lessons at your own pace (there are no class meetings)
- May 3 or 4 Pick-up plant transplants from the Forsyth County Ag Center at 1450 Fairchild Road Winston-Salem, NC 27105
- June 12 Take the Post-Test and complete the program evaluation
We will provide the seeds, plants, some potting soil, hand-outs for each lesson, and optional videos for each lesson.
You will need to provide some soil from outdoors (not store-bought), some recyclables like soda bottles, clear plastic clamshell (take out containers), rulers, scissors, water, and an outdoor place to plant vegetables.
