Public Health’s COVID-19 testing continues with changes

Forsyth County Department of Public Health is continuing to coordinate no cost COVID-19 testing in the community, but with some changes as testing once again moves to different locations at partner sites, and will be conducted on Saturdays.

The schedule for the drive-thru testing events this month is

  • April 10 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4129 Northampton Drive.
  • April 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Southeast Plaza, 3067 Waughtown Street.
  • April 24 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4129 Northampton Drive.

Testing is still an important part of containing the spread of COVID-19, since it allows those who are positive to get the proper treatment and isolate themselves, so they don’t infect others. Those exhibiting symptoms or who think they’ve been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged to get tested.

Forsyth County Public Health's testing, which is done in partnership with StarMed Healthcare, moved to regular, sheltered locations during the winter months to help protect against the elements. Now that warmer weather is here, it’s now back in open, outdoor spaces. Due to decreased demand, testing is now offered once a week, but that may change if needed.

There are still numerous other sites doing testing throughout the week. Visit https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/ and click on “Find a Testing Place” to find testing locations near you.
