First dose vaccination cash cards now available through Sept. 13

Cash cards for adults who receive a first dose of COVID vaccine, and their transporters, will now be available until Sept. 13 at the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, 799 N. Highland Ave., and community vaccination events held by Forsyth Public Health while supplies last.

The current cash card program, which is provided by the NC Department of Health and Services, has ended, but the State is now allowing providers with extra cards an additional two weeks to distribute them. Vaccinations are available at the Health Department on Wednesday, Sept. 1, next week from Sept. 7-11 and on Monday, Sept. 13.

One hundred dollars worth of cash cards are available for anyone 18 and older who receives their first dose of any COVID-19 vaccine, and $25 cash cards are available to non-commercial drivers who take someone to receive their first dose. The cards are for first doses only, and each patient’s COVID vaccination history will be checked before the shot is administered or the cash card is given. Cards will be available while supplies last.
