Commissioners to consider ARPA funding requests

Forsyth County commissioners are scheduled to begin hearing staff recommendations for round one of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, after they approve policies and procedures for allocating the funds.

County staff has developed sub-award policies and procedures required by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, which are scheduled to be voted on at today's Board of Commissioners Meeting starting at 2 p.m.

Upon approval of the policies and procedures, the County will be ready to move forward with approval of ARPA applications. Staff is scheduled to present recommendations for round one of ARPA funding at the Board Briefing today, which will begin shortly after the conclusion of the Board Meeting. The recommendations presented today are scheduled to be voted on at the Board's February 17 Meeting.

Persons who wish to speak during a Commissioner Meeting concerning their ARPA Application, are encouraged to attend the February 17 meeting and have two options. In-person attendees should complete a speaker card and deliver to the Clerk to the Board before the meeting begins. In addition, comments are accepted by calling 336-422-1200 at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. You will be placed on hold and recognized to speak in the order your call was received.
