Introduction to Canning - Learn the Basics to the Art of Preserving Foods.

The art of canning has been around for centuries. It has been a safe method of preserving seasonal foods to enjoy throughout the year; however, it is slowly dying out because of easy access to canned foods and because many do not have the time. Many of our parents and grandparents whose canned foods we've enjoyed eating, are putting up their aprons and retiring their canners. This is the time to pass on the baton to the next generation to continue with home food preservation traditions. It is beneficial to learn the basics of canning if for any reason, down the line, you may need or want to preserve your own wholesome foods. This could be your new family fun-time tradition!

This online workshop is designed for those who wish to learn about canning as a home food preservation method and it will also prepare you for the Home Food Preservation Series coming up in the Spring/Summer 2022. The curriculum introduces canning methods and discusses best practices for safe and quality home canned products. This course will prepare you for boiling water and pressure canning instruction.

I will offer the same workshop on two separate dates and times for convenience. One workshop will be on March 23, 2022 and the other on April 14, 2022. Please register on Eventbrite to reserve your spot (only choose one date).
