Forsyth Public Health offering additional COVID-19 booster for ages 50+ starting April 4

The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will begin offering additional COVID-19 vaccine booster doses on Monday, April 3, for certain immunocompromised individuals and people over the age of 50 who received an initial booster dose at least 4 months ago.

This change follows recent CDC and NC DHHS booster shot recommendations. Additionally, adults who’ve received a primary vaccine and a booster dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine at least 4 months ago may now receive a second booster dose using another COVID-19 vaccine.

Public Health’s COVID vaccinations are free and no insurance or ID are required. Vaccination clinic hours are Monday-Wednesday 12-5 p.m., Thursday 12-8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Appointments can be made at Bit.Ly/FCNCCovidVaccine or by calling 336-582-0800 weekdays from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Masks will be required at the vaccination clinic.

COVID vaccinations are available for ages 5 and up. Being vaccinated and boosted is the best way to prevent serious illness from COVID-19.

Vaccinations are also widely available from many providers in the community. To find the closest provider, visit https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccines.
