Denise Price is County’s new Behavioral Health Services Director

Denise Price has been selected to serve as Forsyth County Government’s Behavioral Health Services Director, effective June 11, 2022.

The new position will oversee behavioral health programs and initiatives as part of the County’s Health and Human Services Department, which also includes the departments of Public Health and Social Services. Price currently serves as an Assistant Public Health Director, a position she’s held for the last five years.

"Denise rose to the top during our recruitment and selection process as she has over 30 years of experience facilitating, coordinating, and/or managing mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disability services,” said Health and Human Services Director and Deputy County Manager Shontell Robinson.

Price has worked in numerous leadership positions at the Guilford Center, CenterPoint, and briefly worked for Cardinal Innovations. She has a bachelor’s in psychology from Greensboro College, and a Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University.

“Her breadth of knowledge will be instrumental in managing the large array of programs, projects, and services Forsyth County is responsible for,” said Robinson. “Denise's passion and dedication for serving our residents is exceptional, and I look forward to working alongside her as she begins this new position."

As Behavioral Health Services Director, Price will oversee the County funding for behavioral health services and County programs like the Stepping Up Initiative, which helps justice-involved individuals with mental health and substance use issues. She’ll also be overseeing the opioid settlement funding process as well as a renovation project that will turn the Highland Avenue Center into a one-stop location for individuals with behavioral health needs with services provided by partner agencies.

“I am thrilled to be able to serve in this newly created role and to build upon the existing synergy, working with stakeholders to assure a comprehensive array of quality resources for Forsyth County residents,” said Price.
