The Spotted Lanternfly: A Threat to North Carolina

Since its introduction in 2014, counties in Pennsylvania and surrounding states are under quarantine due to the devastating impact of Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) on native trees and ornamentals, orchards, vineyards, businesses, parks, and outdoor venues. In North Carolina, the SLF was recently detected in Forsyth and Guilford Counties. With the knowledge we now possess, we have the chance to stay one-step ahead and avoid the economic losses experienced by other states.

Join experts from the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, to acquire the skills and expertise to stop this threat. Earn Professional Development Credits and watch a Detector Dog at work!
