Forsyth County Animal Shelter reopens on April 15

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter will reopen to the public for adoptions and scheduled surrenders on Saturday, April 15. The shelter is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and is closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.

The shelter is open for adoptions and redemption of stray pets to their owners. Owner surrenders are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling 336-703-2480.

Forsyth County resumed responsibility for the animal shelter’s operations on the afternoon of March 30. The transition period has included facility maintenance, hiring staff, resupplying the facility, and completion of a state inspection granting approval to receive an unconditional license to operate. which was successfully received late Friday afternoon.
