The workshop will cover the basics of small ruminant production: including production systems, selecting seed stock, facilities/infrastructure, predator control, animal care, marketing, processing, and profitability and sustainability.
This workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will begin at the Davidson Extension Center at 301 E. Center St., Lexington, NC. After lunch, we will tour a local farm to see their animals and hear first hand what has worked well and what hasn't worked so well.
Registration is due by May 17 and is $15/person (includes materials and lunch). Register at https://go.ncsu.edu/smallruminant2023..
