SUN Bucks will provide grocery-buying benefits to qualifying families with school-aged children during the summer months. Benefits can be used to buy healthy food at places like grocery stores, farmers markets, and some online retailers.
How much will families receive? Qualifying families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per eligible child for the summer.
When and how will benefits be issued? SUN Bucks issuances will occur every two weeks from late June through September as new children are determined eligible. Households with an active FNS case will get SUN Bucks on their existing EBT card. All other households, including households with different kinds of benefits, such as Medicaid and TANF, will be mailed a new SUN Bucks card. Cards for children on Medicaid and TANF cases will be sent to the address associated with that case. Cards for most other children will be sent to the mailing address on file with the child’s school. If a child is currently in foster care, their card will be sent to the DSS office handling their case.
