Minimum Housing Code Enforcement

The Community & Economic Development department enforces the Minimum Housing Code in Forsyth County, apart from the City of Winston-Salem and Town of Kernersville. Staff investigate complaints, work with property owners to achieve voluntary compliance, and administer enforcement procedures as necessary.

We can assist with issues like abandoned and deteriorated homes, unsafe housing conditions, and dwellings unfit for human habitation. We are unable to assist with businesses operating within a residential property, outdoor trash complaints, and occupied tent/camper complaints.
