The goals of the Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection and the Environmental Assistance and Protection Board are to protect public health and the environment of Forsyth County by minimizing the impacts of environmental contaminants, educating the public about pollution prevention and promoting conservation of natural resources in the community.

Environmental Assistance and ProtectionAll Open Burning Banned Due to Increased Fire Risk
The NC Forest Service has issued a ban on open burning and cancelled all burning permits statewide and the Forsyth County Fire Marshal's office has issued a burn ban for all of Forsyth County. All outdoor open burning is banned effective 8:00 a.m. March 21, until further notice.
